Someone told me to try walking around in Vibram Five Fingers and believe it or not my PF slow went away. My first pair of Hokas was the mafate. Only had trouble with blistering on one foot, my right. Waiting the arrival of a new pair of Stinson Evo's 1/2 size bigger hope this takes care of the blisters.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-63673278896812699032013-11-15T19:56:18.798-05:002013-11-15T19:56:18.798-05:00Hi I was just wondering about the sizing.. I use "the stick" to roll them out. Honestly, the Hokas really helped get me back on my feet. Now I mix up my runs between my normal minimal shoes and the Hokas. Whenever I feel the foot pain start, I switch to the Hokas for a few runs and it really helps. Let me know if they help you too!Nathan Sanelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12065432792246483354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-76992605133673129852013-03-30T10:34:42.524-04:002013-03-30T10:34:42.524-04:00I just bough a pair of evo's and have not been...I just bough a pair of evo's and have not been able to take them out yet! I am such a skeptic. I am also a minimalist with a nasty case of PF. When my calves return to normal after a dry needling session, I may break the evo's out. I bought them like you to increase my mileage and to do back to back runs. My PF is preventing me from going over 18 miles and B2B runs are not happening. Hope those crazy shoes help. How is your PF? After multiple long runs for me walking is painful all day not just in the AM. I think it is coming from my tight calves.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-76339303300649921802012-10-17T06:45:33.172-04:002012-10-17T06:45:33.172-04:00Hi Coach,

It seems like they return energy as you complete your stride, but rob energy as you initiate it. And I also experienced the akwardness of stubbing my toe and tripping. But if you continue to wear them you will see that it goes away. It's like your brain adapts. Its hard to explain, but don't give up on them yet!Nathan Sanelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12065432792246483354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-65011558315086248232012-10-16T11:41:22.224-04:002012-10-16T11:41:22.224-04:00I got my Hoka Stinson Evo's last week and ran ...I got my Hoka Stinson Evo's last week and ran 7.5 road miles yesterday and just 3 technical trail miles today. I have to say.... I'm just not sure. They felt like MORE WORK. They are certainly bouncy, but I feel like I'm using increased effort to swing my foot through the air. In my short 3 miler, I tripped twice and rolled my ankle slightly once. I rarely trip or roll an ankle after trail running for a year. I also skidded across the pavement a couple of times. I think I'm not lifting my foot high enough to compensate for the increased sole.Coach Donnahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08037342640179929274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-2841325393461826722012-09-24T13:46:15.462-04:002012-09-24T13:46:15.462-04:00Hey Nate,

I spent the whole last year running in mt110,s, mt10 and nb road zero with pretty good success(no injuries). I upped my mileage to 72 mpw and started to get a little metatarsal type pain. I then was reading about Hokas so I gave them a shot. I too love the feel but after a long 15-25 mile run my hamstrings, glutes are screaming big time. Also it feels like more work overall cause you're swinging 2 big bricks thru the air! I had all the bad issues with the mafate you mention like toe box rubbing big time on top of toes, ankle collar kills side of ankles on off-camber tech. downhills, etc. I have also been using the stinson b combo xt and it is more comfortable, but has still given me black toenails and the soft squishy ride still seems to effect the above mentioned issues as well as some hip pain. Sometimes I think my feet are trying to pound thru all the cushion looking for some ground feel! Maybe born to run is right? I am like you though in that I just can't let these Hokas go because they are so damn fun and you can put it on auto pilot over any terrain. I want to next try the stinson evo and based on your comments it seems they might work for me. Thanks for your comments!Mike B.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-26192968620816628072012-06-21T08:28:44.064-04:002012-06-21T08:28:44.064-04:00Sorry to hear about your PF!! :-/ Glad you've...Sorry to hear about your PF!! :-/ Glad you've found these so you can still get out there in primo running weather.
I have to say, I laughed a bit at 10oz being heavy. I wear Montrail Masochists, and those things are like BRICKS compared to the little featherweight foot gloves you wear for running. :-)leeapeeahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00596452104713562637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5168160086976012326.post-30901237887327579442012-06-20T21:35:02.667-04:002012-06-20T21:35:02.667-04:00I got a pair of Stinson Evo's on May 8th and h...I got a pair of Stinson Evo's on May 8th and have over 420 miles on them so far and absolutely enjoy running in them for the same reasons you listed. Have you ever suffered from that and if yes, any tricks?

Thanks and hopefully you found the trick before your VT100 to keep your PF away.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
